Casa Vigeo

Sean & Christina Sullivan have invested in the local Catholic community since the beginning of their marriage in 2012. They are no strangers to taking big risks or enthusiastically saying “Yes!” to another (seemingly impossible) God Project.

The Sullivans initially focused on evangelizing young adults by creating intentional residential communities of lay Catholic university students and working professionals. Most recently, they shifted focus and now use their gifts to serve families in their beloved San Francisco.

In early discussions with folks involved in faith-based initiatives across the country, a non-profit called Moishe House kept coming up in conversation. Moishe House supports Jewish young adults living in community whereby the residents receive a housing subsidy while agreeing to actively live out their faith. The Sullivans thought this model could be adapted to serve Catholic families, and Casa Vigeo was born.

Casa Vigeo (pronounced vee-JAY-oh) loosely translates from Latin to “House where I thrive”. Our program is being piloted in San Francisco, specifically serving families at Star of the Sea Parish, as San Francisco provides an acutely challenging environment for Catholic families. If the pilot program is successful, its model can be applied to any location, domestically and potentially internationally.
